1. Purpose and Scope

EnKounters Inc. ("EnKounters," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to responsible data stewardship. This Data Deletion and Retention Policy describes how long we retain different categories of user data, under what circumstances data is deleted, and how users can request deletion of their information.

This Policy applies to all personal data collected through the EnKounters mobile application and associated services. It supplements our Privacy Policy and should be read in conjunction with it.

Our platform is built on an anonymous-first architecture, which means we collect only the data necessary to provide the service, and we provide users with meaningful tools to manage and delete their data.

Note: "Account deletion" refers to user-initiated deletion confirmed by EnKounters. Anonymized data retains no personally identifiable information and is not subject to individual deletion rights.

4. How to Delete Your Account and Data

4.1 In-App Account Deletion

You can delete your EnKounters account at any time using the following steps:

Upon confirmation, your account will be deactivated immediately and placed in a 7-day grace period during which deletion can be cancelled if the request was made in error. After the 7-day period, permanent deletion of your personal data will begin and complete within 30 days.

If you are unable to use the in-app deletion feature, you may submit a deletion request by emailing privacy@enkounters.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." Please include:

When your account is deleted, EnKounters will request deletion of your data from its primary third-party service providers within a commercially reasonable time. However, EnKounters cannot guarantee the deletion of data from third-party systems outside of our direct control. You may need to contact certain third-party providers directly to request deletion from their systems.

EnKounters does not sell user data to third parties. We do not share data with advertising networks that might retain it independently.
